A Memorable Experience at the 5th National Conference of School Clubs

Participating in the 5th National Conference of School Clubs organized by ECCA Nepal was a proud and enriching experience. Despite working with ECCA Nepal for the past five years, I felt the Conference  to be an inspiring event.  The conference, which was held at the Himalaya Drishya Resort in Banepa, brought together students and teachers from government, private, and international schools, along with staff from donor organizations, thus creating a diverse and dynamic environment for learning and collaboration. The four-day event featured sessions led by esteemed facilitators, covering a range of topics that provided valuable insights and information. These sessions were not only beneficial for the participants but also for us, the counselors and organizers. The participants highlighted the significance of such sessions and expressed the need for similar programs in their schools.

One of the most engaging parts of the conference was the Knowledge Marketplace and video presentations. Participants shared their work done through their school clubs with the support of ECCA Nepal. Although time constraints allowed only a few selected videos to be shown, other schools expressed a strong interest in presenting their efforts. They felt that showcasing their videos on such a prestigious platform would have been a great honor.

As part of our responsibilities, we were assigned as focal persons for each district, allowing us to interact closely with the participants. During these interactions, participants shared their positive experiences and excitement about the conference. They appreciated the learnings and felt motivated to implement what they learned. The excursion visits to the zoo, ICIMOD Knowledge Park Godavari, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square were highlights of the conference. Participants were thrilled and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit these significant cultural and environmental sites. These visits helped them understand the importance of cultural heritage and environment conservation.

In conclusion, the 5th National Conference of School Clubs was a remarkable event that provided new learning experiences, fostered a sense of community, and inspired the participants to take proactive steps in environment conservation and culture preservation. It was an honor to be a part of this event, and I look forward to contributing to many more such initiatives of ECCA Nepal in the future.
